{My Dinning Room}

I hope you all wont be sorely disappointed with my home tour. I love my home, but I'm telling ya, it's nothing special. It's small and cozy, hence the name "Our Cozy Nest." It's only about 1400 sq feet which for now, works great. I don't think I could keep up on cleaning more than that.

Ok, here's the dinning room...........

I have to say, I do love our dinning room table. We bought it with our tax return, so it's still pretty new and exciting too me. I love how the sun shines in on it in the afternoon, silly, I know. So the curtains need some serious work, something on top in the middle. I don't know, I've thought of a zillion different things, now I just need to find the time and money to do it.

I bought this shelf at Roberts, they gave me like 60 percent off because it had a crack in it. I'm a little sick of the decorations on it, but they work.

These angels things, I bought at a yard sale for like five dollars, I love how rustic they look.

This lantern, my hubby bought for me in Nauvoo, Illinois.

I love clocks, you can never have too many!

Here's the view of the dinning room from the kitchen, exciting huh!

I found these frames at a small wood store in Salt Lake for like $4 bucks a piece. I painted and distressed them. I used used cabinet knobs from Home Depot to hang them all up.

What a scary little witch!

This is probably my favorite thing in my whole house. I love this chandelier, I've always wanted one like this and a few months ago my parents surprised me by buying this for us.

My centerpiece that is in really sad shape. It's been handled one too many times by my children. That poor candle has been through a lot. Time for a new centerpiece!

So maybe it's a toss up between which I love more, the chandelier or this chair. I drug my poor hubby and kids through a ton of stores trying to find the perfect ladder back chairs. And, I finally found them.

Tomorrow I'll show my kitchen, sorry if some have already seen it. Like I said my house isn't that big, so I'm showing it again!

First off don't apologize for the size! It is beautiful & more importantly well loved! I adore your black shelf...and the berries w/ the clock. If you don't mind I might have to borrow your idea of using cabinet knobs like that. I thought about using curtain finials but they might be to big. Your table/chairs are classic..love them. Thanks for the tour & the sweet comments over at my place! cherry

The pictures are my favorite, with the cute bows and OMGosh on the knobs! Love how you set them on each side of the window.

I LOVE your dining room. What's wrong with it. That shelf is awesome with the drawers. I too like the chandlier table and chairs. What a great idea to use knobs to hang pictures.

Plus my home is no bigger than yours is. I couldn't keep up with much more either. LOL. So far I like what I see can't wait to see more.

I love it - and I really love that chandelier! I love what you did with those frames. I did that in my daughter's room (with pink, of course), but never thought about using them in the rest of my house. Great idea!

your room looks GREAT! i love the color combination. and my favorite part of the room is the black picture frames hanging on knobs. genius! i may have to do that myself.

oh, and the wainscoating in my girl's room is beadboard. someone once told me that wainscoating is just anything below a chair rail. you should try it. your husband could do it. it wasn't very hard at all. give it a try.

thanks for sharing the pictures. as always, i look forward to more.

I think your dining room is so cute. We don't have the largest home either and I will agree with you, how do people clean those big houses?

I love the cute black frames on the sides of the window. They are adorable!

I REALLY like those frames and that knob idea is just brilliant! Someday (when I get all of my other "projects" done) I am going to steal that idea ;)

I love it! Looks so nice. YOur table is beautiful too. I love my table so much but after 10 years, the chairs are starting to wobble and the top of the table is really getting worn down. I'm afraid it's almost time to get a new one.

Nicole, I love your house. Mine is only 1200 square feet so don't apologize for the size. Besides, we probably use every room in our houses and most people don't. Your dining room furniture is just beautiful and the chairs look really comfortable too.

I love the way you hung your photo frames from the knobs! They look so polished and so much more interesting than if you had just hung the frames directly on the wall.

I feel like I'm always saying this . . . but I just can't tell you enough how much I love your style. Your dining room looks beautiful! It's been too long since I've been there. I'm being 100 percent serious - will you come down and help me do my living room?? I probably won't be ready to do it until our next tax return, but I'm serious, I would be so grateful for your help!

Hi , thanks for stopping by my blog. I have been stalking yours for a few weeks.

I looked at your rolling pins. The one with the spiky things is to make cookies. It puts a pattern in them. And the wavy one, I don't know.Sorry I can't be more help. Oh and the black handle one is nice too. Actually all your rolling pins are nice. If you ever see one with a green handle grab it.
hope I see you around.

I agree, those frames are too cute. The ladder back chairs are very nice too. The nice thing about your home is that it is so uncluttered. Something I am working on. Slowly, but surely.

Maybe you could close the green curtains, then tie them back on the sides, so they meet in the middle at the top? KWIM?

Hi! I stumbled across your blog the other day. I love your decor! I going to "steal" your knob/picture idea. So cute! This may be a dumb question, but how do you hang the knobs on the wall?

These Are The Days said...

I like the knob idea for hanging the pics, I'll have to steal that from you;) I just found your blog, great job. I too have been doing some mistreating and stuff, it's addicting...if only there were more time in the day.

Hi! Are those just regular cabinet knobs? How do you hang them on the wall? Could you e-mail me at mstough@vt.edu? Thanks!
