First Day of School

I had to show off some pictures of my kids on their first day of school. They were both so ready for school to start, that it's almost exciting to send them off. This is my oldest who is in 3rd grade this year. Wow, 3rd grade, just saying it seems weird, time flies. Her hair has gotten so much longer since last year. Are you ever a little jealous of your kids qualities??? I would give anything to have her head of hair, I think she must have gotten it from my husbands side.

And here is my cute little Kindergartner. This week has been sorta a tease for him. They go the first day for about 1/2 hour for an orientation, they he'll go Friday for some testing, but he really doesn't start school until this coming Monday. He is so ready for school to start, I think he is bored out of his mind. And me being pregnant and tired isn't helping, poor guy!!!

Look at this cute digi scrap booking kit they have over at Golden Girls. It's only $3.97. I think I need it. Now if I could only find a place that prints 12x12 layouts for a decent price, any suggestions???

Check it out, I'm Famous!!! Kinda, Ok not really!!!

Ok, if you look really hard, that second picture from the end on the bottom row is one of my Moda Projects. And if you look even harder, it says my name. There ya have it, my claim to fame!

It was my kids first day of school today. My daughter was VERY excited that she has her very own desk. And when my husband asked my 5 year old about his first day he said his teacher was cute. I did take some cute pictures of them, unfortunately I can't find the cord that lets me download pictures from my camera to the computer. Hopefully if will show up soon!!!

My Estate Sale Finds!!!

Remember a while back when I showed you this house the "These are the house in my neighborhood tour?" Well, this house apparently sold couple months ago and the previous owners owned an antique store in Salt Lake. Well, this was an estate sale like on other. Most everything was out of my price range, but it was still fun to look around. Inside the house were the more expensive things and outside were more like the garage sale things.

Well, outside is where I found these two beauties. I'm guessing they were bed posts or legs to a table or something. To me they screamed candle holders. Why can't I think of the correct name for that? Oh, well for now they are candle holders.

I came home and spray painted them what else but..........black. The one had a large enough base that I could just set a larger candle on top, but this one I had my husband drill a hole in. He was excited because I got some new drill bits!

I've been needing something to go above the cabinets in my kitchen forever, 5 dollars a piece was definitely something I could handle. I love how they are a little beat up looking, it's fun that they have some history!

I can't wait to see what the new owners do with the house. I was so beautiful inside, but for me would be very overwhelming to make more livable. I'll have to keep you posted with pictures from my walks!

One project down, 48 more to go!!!

I've had this project done for a while now, but needed to wait until the Mill House Inn Fabric by Fig Tree Quilts came out. It's definitely been one of my favorites that Moda sent me to work with. Soooooo........if you like the bag go on over to Moda for a free tutorial.

Also, the other day I went to a fun Estate Sale down the street. I only spent 10 dollars, but I was very excited with my fun find, so come back later this week to check it out and tell me what you think.

I feel like this blog is starting to sound like my journal. Every entry says "Wow, it's been a long time since I last wrote." It started out just being a couple weeks in between journal entries, now, I think the last time I wrote in it was like 7 years ago, WOW, that's really BAD!!!
It has been a crazy couple of weeks. First off this girl somehow grew up before my eyes.
(Don't I have the cutest dad!)

I swear it was just the other day I was at the hospital in Logan holding a beautiful baby girl. How the heck did she suddenly turn eight??? (Picture from her birthday party at my aunt's pool.) She is the one in the green with white polka dots.

Last Saturday she was baptized. Doesn't she look sweet, it was a beautiful day. We bought her a pretty cream dress for after the baptism, my friend took some pictures for me. Of course I'll show them off when I get them, she's working some of her photo shop magic on them.

I had a moment of insanity and spent way too much on a diaper bag. It was 58% off, but still way too much. I think I thought it would make me look like a cool mom or something, since most of the time I really don't feel so cool. Now if I could just find something to make a pregnant woman with a large belly and rear end feel cute.................

I'm also working on another project from Moda. I'm really excited about this one, I LOVE this fabric. It's Glace from 3 Sisters, so pretty!

And there ya have it!!! School starts in a couple of weeks. I always feel guilty when this time of the year rolls around and wish I would have done more fun things with my kids. We did spend a lot of time at the park, I vacuumed about a cup of sand out of the car yesterday to prove it. Well, my hubby is baking some of my favorite oatmeal chocolate chip cookies so I better go help him out and eat a couple. I'm sure that will help with the whole large rear end problem.
