I've also been trying to hurry and finish this for a girl in our ward that just had a baby.
It's a bib and a burp cloth. (Sorry, you probably figured that out on your own!)
My mom has a machine called a hemstitcher. Anyways, it punches holes in the fabric so you can crochet around it. This edge is the simplest of simple edges. For boys I don't like it to be too frilly. Anyhow, I'm pretty much posting this to see if people are interested in purchasing something like this that they can crochet the edges on themselves. My mom makes them in kits that have 2 burps and a 36x36" blanket, so all you have to do is the crocheting. I thought if people were interested I would start up a etsy shop and sell some for her.
Come back tomorrow to see my NO SEWING involved quiet books. I'm never sure if things like this are just "Utah things" so a quiet book is something a lot of us mom's have to keep the kids occupied during church mostly that has fun little games and learning stuff, I think you get the point. See you tommorow!

That is too cute... but unfortunately I don't crochet.

Oh that will be CUTE! I've never heard of that little machine, but it sounds handy.
I'm waiting on your quiet book instructions--it sounds like just what my 2.5 year old needs for church. We've stopped letting him snack on cheerios in church (we arbitrarily decided he was too old) and boy oh boy do we miss the easy quiet that cheerios brought us!!
