I'm running out of ideas!

Or maybe I just need to get my act together and finish some projects. I wish I was like the nester, she could post about emptying the trash and it would be interesting. Well anyways, I decided to show pictures of my flower gardens.

I really can't take credit for any of it. The guy we bought our home from, loved yard work. Me, not so much. I do love how it looks after we've worked really really hard outside though, which is what we did all day Saturday. I have the sunburn to prove it.

Honestly, I don't know what half of these plants even are, luckily I haven't killed too many of them.

As you can see our fence needs to be painted REALLY bad.

The plant is one of my favorites. I think it's some kind of lavender, It grows really tall and gets purple blossoms at the top, it's fun to put in flower arrangements.

Hey, how did this get here?

Those trees on the other side of the fence that needs to be painted are Russian Olive trees. They're a pain in the rear. All the white stuff all over the flower beds, is the blossoms from that tree. And then in the fall we get to clean up all the leaves from the tree. Lucky us, there is even a Chinese Elm right next to it, that blows seeds all over, and then grow cute little trees all over our yard. I think both of those trees are even illegal to plant, they're nasty little (big actually) weeds.

Oh look, a cute little Oak Bush, or at least I think that's what it's called.

Well there ya have it. My flower garden. If you know what any of these plants are called, let me know.

Your flowers are really pretty. Those plants in the third picture are Hostas they love the shade and every year they get bigger and you will eventually be able to split them. Just take a butcher knife and cut them down the middle to half them or I usually make four plants out of them. They are very hardy. Good Luck

Um, the top picture is ROSES, church sluffer.

I actually like Russian Olives--for their smell. I LOVE it. Open all your back windows and make your house smell sweet.

Don't kill me when I say that at first I didn't recognize you in your yard when we drove past. I hadn't seen you in a pony tail before. You did a pro edging job.

We are working out tomorrow, by the way. And Tuesday. And Thursday. No excuses.

Very pretty garden. I love seeing other people's outside pictures. It looks like you're doing a good job of maintaining what the previous owner did. Good job!

Good Morning! Your flowers are fabulous! After I read your comment about your "monogram making set"...I ran over here to search through your archives! FOUND THEM...and love the set! Where did you find it? I clicked the link, but it sent me to a Roadrunner site with a lot of company ads. You may already be doing this, but have you seen Susie Harris' post, where she used stamps to make wonderful coasters. That would be a great project for the monogram stamps. And makes cheap gifts, too!

You have a great blog, and you did an amazing job on your kitchen! What a transformation!

Hugs, Rhonda :)

What beautiful pictures you take! I love the last little plant LOL and my kids would love your swingset, so we just won't show them the picture.

Also, I thought you might like to The Big Annoucement over at my blog A Daily Dose of Toni. If you are interested in having your blog included Mom Dotat please contact me back either through a comment on the post or through my email tpatton5@gmail.com Thanks and hope to hear from you!

Hi Nicole

Your gardens are beautiful. I don't work in the gardens at our home. That's J's hobby and he enjoys it. I am around to offer help in planning, when needed, though. I love that part of gardening!:-)

Your flowers are so pretty! I wish the people who lived in my house before us bothered to plant something. I got nothin'! :o)

Third picture down... those are Hostas. They are wonderful plants, and nearly impossible to kill... great for someone like me. Unless you get slugs... like we did the year after we planted nearly 30 of them to line our driveway. you yard looks great... even the fence!

Lovely! My hostas got eaten by SLUGS last year. Sigh, I even lost a few. What a gorgeous yard. I inherited a nice one too. I took some pics, but they are stuck in the camera which will not download for some reason.

I totally feel you. Sometimes I feel like I have nothing to write about, then other times I have 15 things to say all at once. :) Your flowers look great!

I think your fence looks just fine the way it is. I love the rustic, worn look. Adds character!!

you know, i use to HATE working in the yard. now, i love it! i think it's because i'm usually alone when i do it and it gives me time to think. i even ask my husband to let me cut the grass. plus, the beauty of yard work...unlike the house, you can make your yard look nice and it stays that way for at least a week. beautiful flowers!

The thing you thought was lavender is actually Russian sage. I have the same thing in my garden and I love it too! Your garden looks gorgeous! Oh, and thanks so much for the postcard. I got it today. It will be featured over at iPost sometime in the next week. Hugs!

here is the pattern for the cloth baby shoes...i use a "pleather leather" found at walmart for the bottom of the shoes instead of fabric. they are really easy to make...have fun with it.

Pretty flowers! I need to get out there and start taking some good pictures of my flowers...maybe I'll be able to capture some of them before the slugs devour everything.
