Thank you, and I think I'm in LOVE!

First off Thank you all So So much for your sweet comments the other day. I think I might print them all off and next time I have a rough day like that I'll read through them. It was so comforting to read that a lot of you have been through similar experiences, and most importantly you (and your kids) survived. Motherhood is definitely hard work, but definitely worth it.

Well, I actually finished a project. I bought the pattern for this hat off of etsy and I think I'm in love. It actually wasn't too hard to figure out and believe me I'm not the greatest crocheter. I don't even think I hold the hook right. The only hard part was I either crochet really tight or my baby has quite a large head, or maybe the pattern was a little off because my 3 1/2 month old is wearing a hat that according to the pattern is for a 12-24 month old.

The nice thing about crocheting is you can do it anywhere. Unlike sewing where I have to haul out the sewing machine and scissors and olfa board and cutter and fabric and thread, you get the picture. Someday I really need to invest in a sewing table, I'd probably get lots more done.

I'm gonna get if big trouble for this picture, but wouldn't the hat be cute for a little girl. Well, if your interested I'm going to be putting some hats on my etsy site (as soon as I find the time). You can request colors too if you'd like.

Have a great day, and thanks again for your sweet comments!

Great pics! I make bows and used my son as a model when he was a baby too. :) That hat came out VERY cute! A few years ago I got my own sewing space and it is truly wonderful. It is easy to spend a little free time on a project when everything is already there and ready to go.

Gee, I wish I had paid attention to my grandma and little sister as they tried to teach me to crochet. That is a CA-YOOT hat. ;)

Hi Nicole. Love the hat. It's way cute. The baby is VERY DARLING too!
You may get into some "minor" troubles for the flower! LOL

Your last post reminded me of me. Walking, talking, bundle of guilt! Ahhhhhhh. (do you see this harried woman running around flailing her arms in the air every which way?) (that's me.)Worry worry worry. Blue Personality......(we learned what kind of personality we had at RS enrichment one time...LOL)
Anyway,
Motherhood IS NOT for wimps!!!
It's the hardest and yet the most rewarding thing I've ever done or ever will do I believe! There will always be good days and some not so good days. Just remember, what wise friends have told me, it's for eternity, so you have to think with an eternal perspective. I always tried to remember that these little children were not really mine, but Heavenly Fathers, and they were just on loan to me.
Enjoy them. Just enjoy them every day. Laugh a lot, kiss them and pray for both them and you!
Well good grief, now that I've gone waaaaaaayy over board, I'll stop. Chin up.
Enjoy your day.
Mercy

Ok...not sure how I linked to your blog, but here I am. SO a bit of wisdom from a Mom whose baby is now going to have a baby. Being a Mom means lots of success and lots of failure. No one is harder on us that we ourselves. Give yourself permission to have those days when you aren't the best Mom in the world. Is there anyone who is perfect in every way....ok, I guess Mary Poppins, but she had some really weird thing going on with her feet (G)!!!
I will share with you what my Mom said to me once...and now it is so true. Someday your house will be all clean and tidy, lovely and quiet and you will be very sad. My children are grown, I miss them living at home like crazy....BUT I am going to have a Grandchild in March. So I get to watch my children become parents. I will be sure to give them lots of hugs and tell them they don't need to perfect....just have a heart full of love and LOTS of patience!!!

That hat is too adorable! It'll be quite a few years before he'll get you in trouble for that picture too, lol! You absolutely didn't, I repeat, did not, say anything wrong. I've been working tons of overtime (every time they offer) and working split shifts and losing my mind! A mission isn't cheap and we were certainly not in any position to pay for one. It will all work out though I'm sure but I'm scared and stressed every month. We also have much stress at work during the winter and so I'm just plain and simply crazy and don't get around. Travis left Dec. 9th and I've been working on making his room my sewing room. Want to know how far I've got? I'm just now ready to take down the borders and patch holes. There's just no time, lol! Maybe a month before he's home it will finally be ready to move my sewing into. Now you know why it takes me until the end of January to finish the girls gifts, lol! Good thing they're patient!

Also, I still have my other blog. If you can't get in let me know via the sewing blog. Sometimes blogger likes to block people and I don't know why but then all of the sudden it will let them in again. I don't know why. I've found by reasending an invitation sometimes it fixes it. I wish I didn't have to have it private but for now I do. Maybe someday...sorry for the novel here but I wanted you to know that it honestly wasn't you, it's me. Oh, and to top it off I should have told you in the last post about the time I dropped Travis when I was walking in the house and fractured his skull on the corner of the cement stairs. Talks about feeling like a bad mom! I was so afraid they'd think I'd abused him when they kept questioning Brianna on what really happened. Luckily she was an honest child and told the truth on how it happened. I was so lucky he wasn't hurt worse than he was. I quit my job the next day bz they wouldn't give me time off to be with him and wanted me to send him to a sitter.

Okay, now I'm really sorry for the long comment! Come and see me anytime! Cindy

P.S. Travis was about a year old at the time and couldn't talk yet. Also, I keep Travis' mission blog up-to-date with stories he says it's okay to blog. If you ever get bored here's the link. http://dude8001.blogspot.com/ He did the first few posts with his testimony, etc. and then turned it over to Brianna and me. Since Brianna no longer has internet it's too hard for her to make the time to post so I do it. Kaje' takes care of his Facebook for him.

Cute hat and adorable pictures! I got a good laugh at the last one. I love all things girly, and when our fourth son was born, my hubbie made me promise I wouldn't dress him up in anything close to pink. LOL!

Just stopping by to say hi! How are the other kids adapting to this new little baby? He sure looks adorable! I'm anxiously awaiting April when Brianna has our new little granddaughter (who still doesn't have a name, lol)! Take care and have a nice weekend. Cindy
