Do you remember this old window? I got it a few weeks back. I was driving home and this girl had them outside of her house selling them for ten bucks a piece. I knew that was too good of a deal to pass up.
So I sanded it down, and took a razor blade and cleaned up the paint on the glass. Then I taped off the glass and spray painted it. Sanded it again for that distressed look and put some stain on too make it look old again. I didn't realize how crazy that sounded until a neighbor walked by and asked what I was doing.
Anyhow, here is the finished product.
I decided to put it in my kitchen over the kitchen cabinets.
I just might have to take it down for the 4th of July. I love how a lot of you bloggers out there put an American flag behind the glass.
So, I am quickly running out of ideas for things to blog about, any ideas???

thanks so much for the thought. We went to the eye dr today and it was another dead end. I don't have any symptoms of allergies, but maybe this is MY symptom. I know I have some zyrtec lying around here somewhere. I will try it tomorrow. I have got absoulately nothing to lose. The window looks great! I love the look of the new blog.
ALso, my neighbor thinks I am crazy. He always asks what I am creating when I am out spray painting. He always seems interested. I know he is really not, but I still like that he tries!!!
ps-watch out for those windows. Crafting with them can be addicting!!!
I love how your window turned out. And that tassel is darling. I really want to try and make one or maybe some. Mimi
Oh it turned out great! I love it and it looks perfect in your kitchen!
I love the window with the wreath! The church down the street is being renovated and I kept watching to see if they would take out the old windows. I'm kind of thinking they won't now because they boarded up the glass the other day.
As for blog topics? How about a tutorial on the family trees?
Love the window!
The window looks great great! About the stuff to talk about...I'm in the same boat. I just don't have enough craft time these days.

I love it! I just love old windows! It instantly gives your home a cozy feel, to me! Yours turned out great and I like where you have it! I have one in my living room with quilting squares behind it and one on my sunporch with a big star hanging in the middle of it. There's so many things you can do with them!

I love it...I'm beginning to wish I had dome some garage saling this year!!
I've been searching for a window for sooo long. So long. Like maybe two years. Crazy? I know. I'm finally getting one. My parents redid their garage and there was a six-paned old window that they are saving for me and I am so thrilled! Thanks for the inspiration of the wreath hanging in front. Lovely!
Hi Nicole- thanks for stopping by my blog- I have been enjoying yours for a while now too! I have a window really similar to yours above my bed. I like how you put yours above your cabinets- it looks great!

Love what you did with your window! Did you see my post about my windows? There are just limitless ideas. One year I hung a Christmas wreath on the window pane hanging in the living room...
I love it! I also love your black cabinets, I have been thinking about painting mine. Next year when we replace our windows, I will have to remember to keep one or two! Have a fun, safe halloween!
Laura:)
It looks great! Ah, to have that much space above cabinets. We're in a 1972 house and they sure did not believe in high ceilings and open stuff back then. Shoot. I'm jealous!!! I'm out of blog ideas, too, since the kiddos keep me busy and I don't get to create as I used to. Send some this way if you get some good ones hun! Hugs, Les
oh, this is awesome! :) I love the window over the cabinets! Gosh, I dream of black cabinets one day.........hehe
I am still jealous......
Beware....as soon as you think you have nothing to blog about life happens and gives you several new blogs!! I like the idea of putting the American flag behind the window. I haven't seen that done but I think it would be beautiful. I love how your painted it and can see such beauty in an old window!
The window looks great. It looks sp pretty above your beautiful black cabinets.
Did you paint those your self? Or are they custom made?
Enjoy a Happy and safe Halloween!
So fun! I wish I was that crafty and creative!
I love the window idea. I have a couple of old windows I was going to make into end tables. I may change that though! When I got mine they already looked old, because they were, no work needed!
Love the black cabinets? Is that paint or stain? We are in the middle of painting our cabinets right now - but I'm going to be boring and paint them cream.
