{Crazy Weekend}

I hope nobody will think I'm being braggy, but I had a really awesome opportunity this weekend. I play with a flute choir made up of 14 women. Well our group was invited to play at the Assembly Hall on Temple Square. We were all very excited, we've signed up to play here before but never been invited so it was a very neat opportunity. I asked my hubby to take some pictures of this beautiful building but, well he took like two and they weren't that great. So here is the picture of the building that I stole (borrowed from their website).

Here is a picture of the inside of the building, sorry the lighting isn't the best. It is a beautiful historic building that was so fun to play in. The acoustics are incredible, the sound just resonates. They wouldn't let people take pictures while we were performing, so sorry I really have no actual proof. :)

This last week was also my four year olds first week of preschool. It about killed him to have his older sister go to school the week previous. He has been sooooo excited. I also watch my niece the days that my son has preschool, so they get to go together.

My neighbor down the street actually owns the preschool. I was so excited when I found out she was starting one. She used to teach 2nd grade in Spanish speaking elementary school, but decided she wanted to be home with her little boy that they adopted about a year and a half ago.

My daughter also had her first soccer game this weekend. I don't have an athletic bone in my body so I am absolutely no help at all to her. For the last bit of the game her coach put her in as the goalie (I think that's what their called, I have no idea how it's spelt). Ok, so that about killed me, it seemed much safer for her to be with the other little girl chasing the ball around the field. She didn't' really block any balls from making it into the net. She more like scooped them up when they rolled towards her. Poor thing, if she takes after me at all, she doesn't have a chance when it comes to sports.

What a gorgeous place!!! It is a very exciting opportunity. You should brag. I use to play piano, flute, oboe, English horn, and marimba. I only went as far as high school then quit becuase of the band director. I had a college sholarship in 10th grade and threw it away becuase of him. Anway, this is about you.

Great scrap book pages of your kids. I too suffered through soocer, but luckily my kids decided it wasn't for them. LOL.

What a fun opportunity. I love the flute.

Exciting milestones too! I hope your son loves preschool and your daughter enjoys soccer.

I love your scrapbook pages. Are they digital? I haven't tried that yet. Great job.

Cute digital scrapbooking pages! Very nice! I'm so woefully behind on scrapping...it's kind of intimidating!

Your daughter looks so cute in her goalie uniform!

I think that is fantastic that you got to play there. I use to play the flute. I finally gave it to my niece to play.

Glad your son was so excited about preschool. It makes it so much easier to see them go for the first day.

It seems as though every weekend and weekday is turning into the crazies!!! I think it is just that time of year.

My only claim to fame was singing in school. My kids look through my state metals and wonder if dirt was also invented back then.

I wish I'd known about your concert. The mister and I love to go to Temple Square and enjoy the concerts there. Enjoy those moments with the kids. Before you know it they'll have kids of their own. Mimi

Congratulations, Nicole! What a great opportunity and I bet you'll remember it forever.

Tyler did soccer this spring. Yep. He was the kid who was always found looking up at the sky and spinning in circles on the field. I think he inherited that from me (like you, a non-athlete).

you have had a busy weekend. I got tired just reading about it! How cool that you got to play. it is such a beautiful building! I have always wanted to go in it-just never did it! I will next time we go down to slc-it looks breathtaking. No surprise.
I am so with you on the non athletic bones-my girls are doomed. Although 6-she is athletic. 8 is kind of ticked about it. Oh well-she has other talents!

Soccer! How fun! I look forward to when Livy can do that.

And Temple square, what a neat experience. Thanks for the notice about it. I was hoping to head up that way but ended up sick with a terrible cold that I am just now getting over.
