{Remember Me}

I have been the absolute worst blogger lately. I try really hard to comment back on everyones sweet comments, but wow, it's becoming difficult. My 1 1/2 year old has decided he no longer needs naps, which means there goes my alone time with my computer :) I think I've finally figured out how to get him to take naps, we'll see if it works today, wish me luck! Also my brother is getting married tomorrow so I've been trying to help me mom get everything ready. Anyhow, enough excuses, I'll try and do better

So remember way back on Sunday when I told you I had purchased something really great off of ksl.com? Well here she is................

I know it might not look like much, but I have big plans for this baby! I actually bought her (it's just easier to assign a gender) to go in my kitchen. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think it's going to work.
I love the top. It actually still has the original hardware, but not for long. I'll save it though!

And then the other day when I was driving to my moms house this girl was selling these window panes for $10.00. Yeah, like practically free. I knew I needed it, I mean it needed me. I can't wait to give it a little TLC and make it beautiful. I have the perfect place for it in my house.

Have a great weekend. I'll try hard to post on Saturday about the wedding!

Love it! I can't wait to see what you do with it. I got me a window sitting in the garage that I have the perfect spot for-but now I am anal and afraid to paint with anything, so it waits until my hubby can get around to it-which might be never, so I guess it will wait until after I am prego! Can't wait to see what you do with the window too!

Have fun at the wedding!

Your comments rang true with me. You are a wonderful blogger, but remember first you are a mom and wife. I am sorry about your baby's naps as this time is so precious.
Good luck with the wedding and have fun.
Your projects look wonderful and a great window for almost free!

I am so jealous about your window!!! I went over to get one but all she had left were the plain ones --- keep your eyes open for another grid one for me!!!

Oh! What a great find! I think that would look great in a kitchen!

Two great finds! I think a dresser in a kitchen is an awesome idea - good for storage! Looking forward to seeing what you do with both pieces.

Hey Nicole! Thanks for filling me in on Tai Pan. Guess what? We don't have a Hobby Lobby here in PA. Boy, I guess I'm really missing out. After reading about Hobby Lobby on a bunch of other blogs, I googled it and PA is one of very few states without one. Oh, well. Thanks for the comment, by the way! Take care.

Have fun at the wedding! Love the dresser and window! Fun finds that I can't wait to see what you do with. Oh man...if C gave up nap time I'd be in dire straits! She is down to one a day but goes to bed really early for me. I hope you get your Mommy nap time back with whatever your trick might be!!! ~ Les

Hey Nicole! That's so funny you should blog about your windowpane. I just posted about a project I'm working on with a similar, old shabby windowpane. It's scheduled to post tomorrow. Good luck with your projects!

I love the dresser!! My mom found one almost exactly like it at a garage sale for $5, so of course we snatched it up. It was in pretty bad shape so my dad sanded it down and then painted it the prettiest shade of sea class sage. She is using it as a buffet and it looks great. I'm sure your will look great in your kitchen. Can't wait to see the pics :0)

When I was 8 I inherited my grandma's old dresser. I remember it being really dark (almost black) but my dad painted it white and painted the handles gold. When we found out we were having a girl we decided to redo it. It's stripped but the baby came before we could finish it. So now it sits unfinished in her room. It's very similar to the one you have. Does your have a mirror?

I can't wait to see what you do with your lovely finds.

Thanks for your thought on the shelf. I'll have to go searching for some knobs next time I get a chance to "escape."

Try the pork salad! You won't be sorry! I used to always get the chicken salad, I had no idea that the marinade/sauce in the pork salad was so amazing. And I went to Cafe Rio for years and never tried the pork-once I did, there was no going back! But, you have to get the creamy tomatillo dressing with it. Yummy!

I might post the recipes I used, because it is easy and fed all 4 of us, (and the elders ate a ton!) plus leftovers and the total cost was like 10 bucks! Ridiculous! I would have never tried it though if I lived by a Cafe Rio.

Do I sound a little obsessed? Yeah, obviously!

Hi Nicole,

Thanks for stopping by... My friends and I got all the fabric from JoAnn's. It was all out of the Home Interior section. But it was one of the weeks where they were all 40% off. And some of the fabrics were in their clearance section. So we got it all cut and then split the cost 3 ways because each pumpkin takes so little. That was a great way to go.
Let me know if I can answer anything else. : )

Oh I can't wait to see the finished project. I have a dresser just like your's. I have been thinking of painting it but have yet to make the plunge. And I cank't believe you had to pay 10.00 for an old window. I get those for free all the time. I have a whole shed full. You want some? :)

Tausha said...

I love the dresser! It is beautiful! I would so buy that for my kitchen. I even have a place for it-so if anyone out there has a dresser that they just don't want that looks like this-let me know.
Don't youjust love old windows? I have many of them throughout my house. I saw someone make a halloween one. They wrote spooly on it-but it was vertical! Loved it! I must have one! Guess I will have to go out to the spider house(aka-the shed) and find the perfect one. I am thinking that it is supposed to be spooky-does that mean that I don't need to clean all the spider webs off of it? Just cheking!
I am such a bad blogger-I have meant to say thanks for the super fabulous award and I have not done it yet! I love it and thanks so much for thinking of little old me!
