"W" is for Woman!

This is my five year old son! He is constantly saying things that crack me up. Friday was show and tell at preschool and he was supposed to bring something that starts with "W". I asked him what he was going to bring. He said, "A Woman." The conversation went something like this..........

ME - Oh really, what Woman are you going to take to preschool?

5 YEAR OLD CUTIE - Buzz light year!

ME - Honey, Buzz isn't a woman!

5 YEAR OLD - Yes, he is, he's a woman and a man!

ME - No, I'm pretty sure he is just a man!

So, I finally talked him into taking a whale, seriously how did I get this kid so confused!!!

So my friend Megan told me I'm slacking at my blog! I told her I just don't have anything interesting to blog about, she gave me a good pep talk and I'm going to really try to do better. I am taking a quilting class to learn how to quilt with my sewing machine, if you're interested I'll do a few posts about that and fill you in on the stuff I'm learning.

Another big thing for me has happened. My friend Megan told me I should blog about it, I was too worried it would sound like I was bragging, but here it goes. Moda (ya know, the coolest fabric line on earth) contacted me about a month ago and asked me to do some tutorials for their Moda Bake Shop blog. I'm just waiting to receive the fabric in the mail and soon I hope to be sewing up a storm of fun stuff for their site. Thanks Megan for the little Pep talk! By the way if your from Utah go and visit Megan's blog she makes the most beautiful tassels and next week she will be selling some at a local boutique, you won't want to miss out!

Holy smokes, Batman! I'm dyin'! How exciting for you. I can't wait to see your tutorials with Moda!

Maybe Buzz has some hidden 'issues'
that we are unaware of. That was a cute story.

you have got to love little people. What would we do without them? Ok-the strawberry syrup-yum-o! My family is not big fanz of jam-what the heck is wrong with them-i really don't know.
So-do you do one batch or two? Do you really have to strain the seeds with a cheesecloth? Is that hard? Never done it before-I know-I am lame-I have made jam before-do i get props for that. Also-congrats on the moda stuff! I don't sew and I even know who moda is!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Okay... just fyi, it may not be your son's fault that he got confused with Buzz Lightyear's sex.

If you've watched the first Toy Story (which I'm assuming your son has maybe several times, like my children)... there's a scene in there where Buzz has a apron and a bonnet on and has convinced himself that he's Mrs. Nezbit. :)

Check it out on youtube. :)

I'm so excited for you~! I love Moda fabric. My friend just made the prettiest quilt out of one of their lines in yellow and blue. Also, I signed up at Bernina to learn how to quilt on my machine. I figure for table runners and such it'll save me a fortune! I'd love to see a blog on what you learned though bz my class isn't for almost two months!

No matter which way you look at him, he's just a guy, in a flying suit...with a huge helmet.... and a sorta laser thingy.....LOL KIDS are a HOOT!!! Congrats again on the Moda Bakeshop! You will do wonderfully well!!! ( we are really enjoying our new little granddaughter! Thank you for you comments!)♥

I totally forgot to stop by and pick up Mari's jacket the other weekend. I will just call you next time when I am in the area.

He is a cutie! I love that he remembers my name. At least he knows how to woo a woman even if he is pretty set on taking Buzz to preschool. Cute photo too!

Yay MODA! I am sooooo proud of you!! I guess I give good pep talks. Looking forward to more blogging! :)

No I'll be farther North in Logan. My class isn't until the end of May. I'm anxious to see what you learn. I spent just about most of my married life sewing at the kitchen table until I finally stole this nook from the family room. I can hardly wait to have a sewing room, but then again it means Travis is gone for two years. That's good and bad (at least bad for his mother bz she'll miss him, LOL!). I check the Moda site every day too and I'm excited to see your things there!!

I came across you blog one day and saw your cute pin cushions you had on etsy so I bought one. :) I ordered it from you two weeks ago, but I haven't received it yet. I left you a message on etsy, but you haven't responded. I am really sorry to leave a message here, but I wasn't sure how I could contact you otherwise. Just wanted to see when it will arrive. You can contact me at kirajander@hotmail.com
Thank you!

I definitely think Buzz has a feminine side. It's just hard to see sometimes. Did you say where you're taking the quilt class? Your Moda tutorial is gonna be great! Glad it's you and not me. Hope you're feeling well. Mimi

yep the scene from Toy story where the neighbor boy's sister finds buzz and dresses him up for a tea party is probably what confused your lil guy! LOLOL...I had to grin when I read what he'd said..he knew what he was talkin bout! LOLOL!!
