Usually here in Utah we have a nice wedding dinner the day of the wedding, but since we really didn't know my brother's sweet wife's family we thought it would be nice to do the dinner the night before so we could get to know each other a little. My mom decided to do a BBQ in her back yard.
Here are the guests......................
A view from the deck.....................
The food was so good. We had pulled pork sandwiches, baked potato with all the fixings, salad, baked beans, and lemon water. My brother (the groom) is the one on the right.
And for dessert.................cheesecake!
These were the centerpieces. We got the candle holders and ribbon from Tai Pan for 2 bucks a piece, the candle from the dollar store and the vinyl lettering I had a friend do for 25 cents a piece. I think they really turned out pretty and elegant.
I wish you could see the candles in this picture better. Each ribbon hanging from the tree is holding a votive candle holder and candle at the end. When the sun started to go down it was really pretty.
My mom has grape vines in the back of yard that she put Christmas lights in, it looked gorgeous.
This is where the kids hung out most of the time. In their little car under the deck!
Tomorrow, I promise to show pictures from the wedding day!!!

Love the candles with the inscriptions...
This is kind of embarrassing, but I didn't remember that you had a brother. Remember the time I went home with you on President's Day weekend and met your family? I had so much fun but I only remember that you had two sisters. He was probably a baby back then. tee hee hee
Love the candle holders. A couple of years ago I made a stitchery that said something similar for a wedding present. Looks like everyone had a great time and thank goodness the weather was so warm. Mimi
Hi! I found your blog looking for pumpkin instructions and your's was the only one I have come across with actual instructions! I just hope I can follow them since I DO NOT SEW! lol. Anyhow, I noticed you scrapbooked. When you have time check out www.simplyobsessed.com-that's my company and we're always looking for new faces and new projects in our gallery! I might be emailing ya again when I'm stuck on those darn cute pumpkins!
Everything looks so lovely in the pix. Looks like it was a total success. I know your mom had a lot of help from you...what a blessing.

What a wonderful idea! The informal gathering allowed much more time to talk and get to know each other I'm sure. I love the decorating ideas. My son is getting married in the spring and I may have to steal some of the ideas!!
Just from this little bit, I can tell it was beautiful.
