Have you ever had fabric that you liked so much that you had a hard time using it? I bought this fabric like eight years ago when I was working at Sew N' Save, I love it........a whole lot. But, it has been eight years after all and the time has come for me to use it.
I made this bags for my etsy shop and I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I really love how they turned out. And V and Co. if your reading this, I really hope you don't mind that I stole your cute little yo yo flower idea, it was just so cute I couldn't help myself.
I just cut a bunch of random sized strips then sewed them all together and quilted them on some warm and natural. The inside of them is lined with some muslin!
I think they would make a fun little easter or spring bag, for a little girl or even a grown up girl!
Ok, I think I've shamelessly promoted these enough now, sorry I hope you don't mind!
I will be putting these in my etsy shop a little later today. Right now I need to get ready to go to lunch with my mom. My hubby has been out of town for the last three weeks (except weekends), and I'm about ready to pull my hair out. My days seem to last forever, even with American Idol to look forward to yesterday. I just really miss him, and I think the kids miss him 10x more, he's the fun parent!
These are adorable! I'm amazed when I read some of these blogs. Talent is everywhere!
ReplyDeleteHow fun are these! Very Pretty! I would have never guessed what the "Reveal" was goiong to reveal! Parenting is truly a duo undertaking huh! No way would I want to go it alone. (I came within a hairs thickness of throttling my 12 yr old this morning.....It's against my religion or I may have rationalized it...and My DH had just gone out the door to work. LOL) Chin Up! ♥
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect project for those fabrics. They scream "SPRING" to me, which cannot come soon enough!

They turned out so cute! I can totally see my mom using one. Very spring.
ReplyDeleteYour bags are adorable! What perfect springtime or Easter gifts.
ReplyDeleteAs the wife of a fire fighter, I feel your pain on the "single" parenting thing! Fortunately, I know that there is always tomorrow when my husband, AKA, Daddy is off-duty and home to share in the parenting. On those pull-your-hair-out-days, bedtimes are usually moved up about 30 minutes. LOL
Super cute bags! Love the flowers boy you have been a busy girl! :)
ReplyDeleteNicole, you are so talented! You make he cutest things! I wish I lived in Utah so I could buy your stuff! I love that bag!

ReplyDeleteCrazy coincidence-I just found that same bag at V&Co and put it in my "to make" file. Yours turned out just darling!!! I am loving those yo yo flowers!
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole.
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving your kind comment on my blog, and yes, the black front door is mine!
Funny story...I am really embarrassed by the front door when visitors come b/c I did a horrible job painting it. I was 7 months pregnant and got this wild hair to change the look of the door. (nesting I'm certain!)
It was origianlly forest green when we built the house and moved in during the summer of 2002. Due to the lack of grass and an extremely dry Kansas summer, grasshoppers invaded the porch and literally ate the paint off the frame around the side lights and door! It drove me nuts and so I changed the color to black which I thought would look nice against the white siding.
oh yeah totally upset! NOT! really it's the nature of the business, get inspired and change it to make it your own. and you have! and they are cute!
ReplyDeletethose turned out very cute.
ReplyDeleteThose bags turned out so cute! I hope you had a nice lunch with your mom. My kids think their dad is more fun than me too. They don't try to hide their disappointment when they are stuck with me either :)
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so sweet to think my house was your favorite. Maybe because it's newest or something. Anyway, thank you. Love your bags. Tif used similar fabric on a quilt that she used last night. She used the quilt as a table covering under the breadsticks. Very cute fabric. My husband used to travel for 3 weeks at a time and not come home on the weekends. Single parenting is no fun! Mimi
ReplyDeleteDear Nicole,
ReplyDeleteI loved your bags ith 1930's reproduction fabrics. I used to work in a quilt store and have quite a stash of fabric, but along with that stash goes my neurotic inability to cut it...because if I cut it, then I won't have it. Hw sixk is that!?!LOL. Great project you've got there!
