I have gotten a teeny bit of fall decorating done that I wanted to show though. Hmmm, this really isn't the greatest picture, but it's the pumpkins that I made for that tutorial last week.
This is my favorite fall decoration ever. A couple years ago my friend Felicia made a table runner to give away at a church party. The whole neighborhood knew she was doing it and we all wanted it. We probably got record numbers at that church function. Well, I didn't win and I was ticked :) I was so mad I decided to make one of my own. I traded some babysitting with my friend Felicia and she did a beautiful job quilting it.
Felicia, would you please move closer so I could have my own personal quilter back???
Ya notice anything different about my little candy corn garland? Like it's gotten a lot shorter. My sneaky little kids think it's their own little treat to eat at their own convenience. It's probably a good thing I didn't spray that clear varnish on it.
Have a great day, thanks for being such great blogging buddies!
LOVE that runner. Oh how I wish I was a quilter.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you didn't spray your candy corn either. LOL.
Mary
LOL My kids would totally be eating the candy corn garland too! Sneaky little stinkers!
ReplyDeleteYou runner is beautiful! I don't blame you for wanting one of your own... (Can I ask how did you get the SLC Temple icon on your computer?) I am so naive about so many technical items of blogging.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a busy week...I took have been in positions of doing many funerals! It is just because I am older...: )
Bless you heart and glad you are back!
Beth
I love that the garland is getting shorter...lol
Love the pumpkins, they look really nice on your mantel. I haven't bought any candy corn yet b/c I will be the one wanting to eat it.
ReplyDeleteLovely fall decor. I think you got a good deal out of your babysitting time!
ReplyDeleteI totally LOVE LOVE LOVE that runner. It's just beautiful. Wish I was good enough at that to make one!!!
ReplyDeleteYour decor looks so cute! I still have yet to get mine out. Still cleaning the house. Then I get to play.
ReplyDelete:)Rachel
no you can't have her she's mine for the time being! :) you should come down and visit your friend felicia so we could get to know eachother in person though! she keeps telling me you and i have a lot in common!
ReplyDeleteHey there. Looking good around there. Did you get my comment yesterday? I left you an award over at my site yesterday!!! Go pick it up girl!
ReplyDeleteSee ... told you I wouldn't be able to handle the garland ... the sweet smell is getting to the kids!
ReplyDeleteYour runner is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI admit it--in our house I probably would be the one sneaking the candy corn off the garland!

OOOooo! I love your runner! Felicia did a spectacular job. You lucky girl to have some of her work!!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh about your kids eating your garland. If it makes you feel any better, my kids, as big as they are, would probably do the same thing! :)
Hope the funeral luncheon is all planned and you can do some funner things!
Ha! I love that the garland is getting shorter. At my house it would already be gone and it would be Todd's fault :o)
ReplyDeleteOh, how I wish I could move closer...closer to you, closer to fabric stores, closer to Target, closer to civilization!
Oh, how I love that quilted runner, and your pumpkins are cute, love the black candlestick holders:)
ReplyDeleteRondell
Love the runner. The mantle looks wonderful and I'm totally sitting here at my computer desk giggling out loud picturing munchkins on the table/chairs getting their sugar rushes from your candy corn garland! Bryce found my candy jar of candy corn and depleted it by about 1/2. And, he gave 1/2 of one to his sister who loved it. Oh my gosh~ what has he started?!? ;) Hope your Friday is a good one! Bryce has been back to school for a few weeks now and I'm STILL not into a routine yet girl!!! xo
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! I am dying over the chandelier, I love that idea on Susie's blog, and wanted to try it! :) Yours looks great.
ReplyDeleteHow cute. YOU ARE SO CREATIVE
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole,
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by to say Hi!
I am realizing that I need to get out my fall decor. Everyone is blogging about it. I am having a hard time of letting go of summer. I guess its because we just returned from vacation in sunny So. Cal. I am so far behind!
So glad you didn't spray your candy corn. Congratulations on your latest award!
Hugs,
Jody
Apparently I don't know how to leave messages! Wha??? so if this shows up twice-sorrry! Anyway-I just love that runner and I would do anything to get me one too. No wonder it caused such a stir!
ReplyDeleteWOW -- you are on top of it!!! I took my cake up to the funeral and it looks like you did a great job getting it organized!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should spray glaze on the garland and let them learn their lesson. Typical monkeys. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you posted about the garland before I made it - making me second guess making one.
ReplyDeleteLove that runner. I'm going to take a quilting class this fall at Piper's. Can't wait. Your home is starting to look fallish. Love the weather we're having. Mimi
ReplyDeleteI always love to visit your home..I feel like I would be soo comfortable there if I came to visit. I love that big grapevine wreath. cherry
ReplyDeletecute runner! My MIL is an incredible seamstress-it's her etsy shop on my blog. this is a good and bad thing. Every time she updates with something so super cute-which is all the time-I call her and tell her that I want it. Go and look on there and look at the super cute rooster/fall runner. My hubby called her and told her I wanted it-even offered to pay for it-she just laughed. Hope it was a good laugh cause I really want it.
ReplyDeleteOk-so your kiddies ate the candy huh? the reason why i haven't and probably wont make one. Who am I kidding-i would be the one who would eat it! At least i am honest right?
Yikes, thinking of tasting that varnish. lol
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this runner! I wish I had that skill. That's so funny that the kids ate your decoration. How come they don't understand you're not supposed to eat the candy-just look at it!?
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so cute. Love the pumpkins and the runner.
