Hogle Zoo

I started this blog to be kinda a journal for my family. As you can see I haven't really talked much about my family for a while. Soooooooo, I hope no one minds if I post about our little family outing to the zoo.

My husbands work had their summer party at Hogle Zoo. So lucky us went and enjoyed a fun day all at their expense.

Here we all are on the very exciting train ride that last all of about 30 seconds. But if you count standing in line, it was more like 30 minutes and 30 seconds. But the kids loved it.

Here's the hubby and kids sitting on the elephants trunk, don't worry, it's just pretend :)

Our baby, such a cool little guy!

When I asked my kids what they remember most about the zoo, they said the elephants peeing. Hmmm, I guess it was sorta a shock.

That was our fun filled day at the zoo!!!!!

Just a reminder, today is the last day to sign up for the card swap. So, if your interested, click on the card swap button on the side!

  2. We have a zoo pass and we go quite often during the spring, summer, and fall. It's so much fun!

As for zoo memories... I have two from childhood that really stand out. We went to the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago, and one polar bear was swimming in the "moat" and another one backed up to the moat... and peed on the other one. The other memory is of a trip to the Cincinatti Zoo... and involves the phrase "Mama, that giraffe is giving the other giraffe a piggyback ride."

  4. Your family is so cute. I am not much of a zoo person... the smell gets to me. Next time you all come south I'd love to visit with you. Take Care!

  5. I used to love Hogle zoo as a kid. They used to have this machine that would make plastic molded animals that was SOOO cool! They had one by the hippo tank as I remember. I went back last time I visited SLC with my cousins and couldn't believe how much it's changed!! Thanks for the memory jog . . .

  14. Looks like you guys had a fun time! I remember those wax figures at the zoo and particulary the one in the hippo house...Do you remember the display they had of the things people threw into the hippo pens? I don't know why but I've always been drawn to that display...maybe it's because I wished that I could own one of the dolls.

The last time we were at the zoo we really enjoyed the elephants... "the oliver's" were with us.... It was feeding time and they brought out bananas and apples and other fruits for the elephants. It was funny to see how they ate and there was definitely a hierarchy amongst them. It was fun!

Aaahhh! Hoogle Zoo--so many fun memories. Did you get pictures of the kids drinking out of the lion water fountain?

  15. looks fun! I'll take your word for it. So not my thing. My kids go with their Grammy. Really-my mom says that I am the worst mom ever cause I wont take them but I don't really care. I don't do the zoo. Blame it on a bad experience as a child. Seriously!!

  16. Ohhhh, the baby looks so cute! The others kids do too but that face, grandma can't resist. I love to see the pictures. You have such a wonderful family. One day my life will slow down and we can spend more time together - it has to or I can't keep this up! I enjoy your blogs so much, I know you actually do this for me.
