Remember Me???

I really haven't quit blogging! It's been a crazy month, just like it has been for everyone else I'm sure. We've made two trips to Insta Care with this little guy! Don't let his big blue eyes fool you, he's trouble. He can climb our kitchen cabinets like he's spider man. He of course fell, and got a nice cut in his forehead. The doctor glued it up really good, and he peeled it off 3 days later. So they decided they needed to do stitches. We decided it was time to take care of his little climbing problem, so he's been spending quite a bit of time on time out.

We started and finished our Christmas shopping about three days before Christmas. It was a small Christmas but nice. It was fun having a new baby at Christmas time. I think the kids were pretty happy with their presents.

This guy got this nifty car garage thingy. Yep, that's the nice battle wound on his forehead that you can see!

You can't go wrong with Lego's for a five year old. He is so sweet, he'd be happy with just about anything!

This one could have gotten expensive. She wanted a DSI, but it just wasn't in the budget. Thankfully she was happy with the Jenga game and the India Jones Wii game. (My parents spoiled us with a Wii this Christmas.) She must have been ok with it because she hasn't said a word about a DSI.

And I've even been able to get a little sewing done. Here is a quilt that I made for the Moda Bake Shop. Hopefully I will get a tutorial written in the next couple weeks.

And table topper I'm in love with. I made it for my sister n' law who just had a baby girl. I thought it worked well for a baby blanket too. It was such a fun quilt to make I think I just may need to make another one for myself.

I decided to give some crocheting a try. I saw this hat on etsy today and decided to buy the pattern. Wish me luck, the only thing I've ever crocheted is around a baby blanket.

We are going to be blessing this guy this Sunday. I can't believe he is ten weeks old. I wish I could slow things down a little bit. He is getting so big so quick.

Yesterday at the doctors he weighed in at 14lbs.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! And thanks for not giving up on me!

  1. I am so glad to see you had a nice Christmas. I can't believe your baby is 10 weeks old. Time flies. Your quilts are so cute. You do beautiful work. I can't wait to see your crocheted hat. I too just bought a pattern off of etsy. It is about the same style, but for adults. I haven't started it yet. Maybe now that Christmas is over, I will find some time to do it.
We should have another get together with Ky and Marie. The kids can run wild and we could play games. I would be happy to host. I live the farthest north, but if everyone is ok with the drive, I would love to have you all come. :)

I have the crocheting bug!!!! I have been doing simple things but want to try a hat for my little girl.

Oh I remember what made me think of you yesterday...I bought the patter by fig tree for those flowers you make.

    Merry Winter!

  5. Hey Nicole!!! I can not believe your little man is already 10 weeks old AND that he weighs 14lbs! My oldest only weighed 18lbs at 1yr!

I'm quite envious of your quilting ability! I can barely get a button to stay on. Those quilts/runners are beautiful!

FYI, my dd is wanting to sell her nintendo ds lite (it's a metallic rose color w/a paw print) and 2 games. If you're interested shoot me an email at lil_mac419 @ hotmail dot com

Glad y'all had a Merry Christmas!

  10. I see his weight and I realize how little my 18-month-old granddaughter truly is. She now weighs 21 pounds. He's absolutely adorable and the other kids have those special Christmas smiles that light up their faces. I hope all is going well. The quilt and table topper look great. The table topper is like the quilt Jill had me make for her wedding. I never quite got the hang of getting the points right on the curves but it was passable. Your's looks great! Keep enjoying that baby!

  12. We shopped like you did this year. Ugg. :-) I don't really want to shop like that next year!
We also got a Wii this year! My older married kids, whom we thought would have all kinds of things to say about it, loved it as much as the teenager did! AND, it's something that everyone can become involved in more or less, so I'm happy about it.

Your quilts are beautiful. YOU have been way busy, holidays, little family, new baby, plus Quilts….and a zillion other things that mom’s do every day! WOW! Enjoy your weekend, a baby blessing is a very special time!

We had a son that climbed EVERYTHING! Faster than you could keep track of! I swear he could also leap tall building in a single bound! And he also threw kitchen knives at his sisters when they were babysitting!
He’s all grown up now, and we laugh at ALL he did as a child. He was sooooo busy we called him “James gang” because it really felt like he was a bunch of kids, and not just one little tow headed boy!
    Enjoy your day.

  13. That little guy is such a monkey, I'm surprised he hasn't had stitches or a cast before now. When he looks at you with those eyes you can't hardly get angry with him though. Your Dad and I are looking forward to Sunday. We love you all.

  16. Welcome back :)

We had a nice relaxing Christmas too. Have never spent a lot on our children at Christmas, how much "stuff" do they really need? We always felt it was more important for us to be home and spend time with them then to buy them things to entertain them. It's the time you spend with them that they will remember later, not the $1000 you spent one Christmas!

I wish for you an awesome and productive 2010!
    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  17. Oh - I could tell you about all the trips to the hospital we made when our oldest was little - for stitches (4 times), but that would be a whole post :)
