You'd think we lived in Oregon or something, but it has rained here in Utah almost everyday since the kids got out of school. I actually like the rain, but the kids are so sick of being stuck inside!
Somehow it seems ok on rainy days to sit and watch cartoons with the kids in the morning and not worry about getting up and getting the house cleaned. I don't even feel guilty about letting the little guy sit in my basket of clean laundry that needs to be folded.
I even made chili for dinner, not really a normal summer dinner, but it works for rainy days like these.

The best part of the day is always rocking this guy to sleep. I know, he's probably getting a little old for this, but I don't care. It's my favorite part of being a mom, and I'll keep it up as long as he'll let me.
I did spoil myself the other day and buy this green and black piture for my kitchen. I'm not feeling too guilty about it either. Now it just needs a little something else!
I actually dusted off the sewing machine and have been doing some sewing also. Hopefully I'll have a couple projects done to blog about next week!
All in all it's been a good start to a summer vacation. I was dissapointed yesterday when I couldn't take the kids to the park for playgroup. The park is soooooooo much better than Mc Donalds. I'm finally starting to feel the baby move, that always makes the first trimester of nausea worth it all, I should find out in a couple weeks weither it's a girl or boy!
Hope you all are having a great summer!
Where the heck have I been?? I didn't know you were expecting. CONGRATS to you. Bring another beautiful child into the world, what a blessing.
ReplyDeleteYou deserve some rest raining or not.
I agree! I love the rain because I haven't had to water my lawn for a while, but at the same time poor Livy wants to play outside. I'm afraid soon it will be beyond hot and we will miss these cool rainy days. Are you finding out soon what your baby is? I find out on Monday.
ReplyDeleteWe're singing the same song sister - here in Colorado!
ReplyDeleteI never did know what I was having before they were born. My doctor would do a heartbeat guess in the third trimester and was right every time except the last time! I'm so excited for you to find out what you're having and also I'm glad you're almost through the nausea stage. We don't have a sprinking system so I don't Larry it could rain every day all summer and I won't complain!! I would like most of the day to be sunny though as I like to open all the windows and air the house out. Northern Utah has been really wet and I noticed on the news it's supposed to continue into Tuesday at least. Hang in there, before we know it it will be unbearably dry and hot! I'm excited to see what you're sewing too!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm more tired than I thought. Make that "I told Larry" not "I don't Larry." Sheesh. Off to bed I go. Cindy
ReplyDeleteI'm in Utah too and I have never seen this much rain here! I am loving it though because my yard is so nice and green.
ReplyDeleteHow fun to feel your baby move. I am always so glad to be out of the first trimester!
I have heard about all the crazy rain in Utah. It makes me jealous! It is crazy wicked HOT in Texas!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to find out what you are having!
I finally did my kitchen post! Thanks for the inspiration!
Those babies aren't ever too old to rock! Cute! Lots of rain here in TX the past couple of days too - unfortunately it's almost 100 today! Jenn
ReplyDeleteI'm tired of the rain too. Good for the garden but come on already. Our little plants are going to drownd!
ReplyDeleteSnuggle him as long as he will let you!
ReplyDeleteNichole, I can just bring you a copy of the quilt pattern next week. Call me or my daughter-in-law Tiffani- Have a great day

ReplyDeletestupid rain! The only thing that is gettin me through the gray is the promised sunshine next week! YEa-spray paint weather again!!
ReplyDeleteI agree-we haven't chatted in a while. I come back and check on you though, just not always leaving a comment. I know, I suck, but some days are like that-right?
So glad you're feeling better...that first part is so icky. And it has been so rainy and blah here, too! What's up with a high of 70 in JUNE??
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole~
ReplyDeleteWe must have swapped weather, because we live in the notoriously rainy Western Washington, but it has been such a wonderfully sunny month so far! :) It looks like you all are enjoying the rain, though! :) I'm glad you are having a good summer so far. :)
I wanted also to say thank you for stopping by my blog and taking the time to say hello! :) I have so much enjoyed reading your blog this morning, and will be back soon to visit again! :) Have a wonderful day! :)
Hey Nicole!
ReplyDeleteHow have you been lady?
I'm so sorry I've been so terribly absent in blogland. Heck, I feel absent in my day to day days sometimes, too.
One would think that after almost 4 months of this flying solo stuff I'd be in a groove but sadly I am not. I just need more and more coffee each day ;)
Just wanted to come by and let you know I was thinking of you and wishing you a fantastic week ahead.
Oh, almost forgot~ love, love, love the tile job. It turned out fab! About the cabinets~ how close is the bathroom to your kitchen? If it's close I think I'd go ahead and match them to the kitchen. I love what you did in the kitchen sweetie!
Hugs, Les
Its been raining like crazy here too! Can't wait to see what you are sewing!
