Sorry for slacking off in blogging this week, I guess I needed a little break. The good news is I found a fun new blog. You probably already all know about it, but just in case you don't it's called Retro Mama. I love these Easter eggs that she made out of fabric and wanted to give it a try. She has a great free pattern and tutorial to make them.
So, here is my version of them. I have to admit, I had big plans to make some for my mom and the ladies I visit teach, but I just don't think it's gonna happen!
I think I'll use my left over fabric to make a table runner. Her tutorial really is a good one and very easy to follow. You'll have to go and check it out.
And just in case you were wondering.............What takes off Black Sharpie Magic Marker from your desk and year old chair that you spent way too much money on and goes to your dining room table, let me fill you in.
GOO GONE - Does not!
WD - 40 - Contrary to popular belief, does not!
Toothpaste - Will work eventually with a whole heck of a lot of elbow grease!
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser - Thank you Mr. Clean - it worked!
That's good to know about the magic eraser!
ReplyDeleteYour eggs are adorable. I don't think I have the patience to sew small things like that, but they are cute!
Those eggs are great! Don't you just love magic eraser!
ReplyDeleteCute eggs!!! I'm not very handy w/a needle and thread, but I can dream through you can't I?! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm the director of my church's women's ministry and the decor theme for our annual retreat is a retro kitchen. We're trying to come up w/some retro crafty things to do w/the ladies. So, I'm so going to be checking out the retro blog you linked to. Thanks!
Just wanted to pop in and let you know that I've been thinking about you and praying you and your family are doing well. Take care friend!

maybe not goo gone/toothpaste/wd 40
ReplyDeletebut I have it on good report zit cream does the trick. Specifically the kind with benz. peroxide. let it sit for 7 minutes. no problems.
do not use on fabric though!
Your eggs are amazing! you must be channeling the easter bunny himself!
But you know what WD-40 does work on? Crayon. And hairspray does a pretty good job with pen ink. In case you didn't know. Also cornstarch for potty training.
ReplyDeleteHow did we ever get along without Magic Eraser??? It also works great on ceramic stovetops and pricetag goo.....the list goes on....
