I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas this year with their families. This year Christmas was played down quite a bit at our house and to be honest it was really nice. Luckily there was no last minute gift shopping, just last minute gift sewing. I started making a tent like 3 or 4 months ago for my kids and finally got it out on Christmas ever and finished it at about 6:00!
Christmas morning was great, the kids let us sleep in until about 6:30. That about killed my 7 year old who came into our room twice during the night saying she couldn't sleep. It's hard to be too upset because I remember well that same feeling of excitement.
My oldest with her Littlest pet shop (or something like that) and her crayola artist set!
My youngest with his wagon and blocks. He thinks he's supposed to just empty it out and sit in it.
Not the greatest picture, but here they all are just before heading to my parents house for the rest of Christmas Day!
And then we made it too my parents. My mom has done such a beautiful job decorating her house for Christmas this year (and every year). I had to show it off. Here is the chandelier in her dining room.
The Christmas tree (you probably figured that out on your own)! I love the wide ribbon that she has put through it.
I love this chandelier in her entrance way. I think I need to go get me some garland for next year and use in the little chandelier in our dining room!
This is my favorite decoration of my mom's. It's a nativity set that my Great Grandma made for her, is is absolutely beautiful. I love how she has it displayed on this shelf above her front door. She probably puts it there to keep is safe from the grandkids!
I am so glad that you and your family had a great Christmas...I love the wide ribbon as well. I noticed it on quiet a few trees this year around the blogsphere...I bought some of my own on the 26th this year and will use it next year! *smiles*
ReplyDeleteI love your Mom's tree! I want to copy it for mine next year...
ReplyDeleteYou made a tent?!? I want to see a picture of that! How cool.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are pj LOVERS too.
Enjoy these last few warm and cozy holiday days we have still.
Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas. I remember those early morning with the kids. Now my husband is the one wanting me to get up early! Have a wonderful New Years!
ReplyDeleteNo one has told my kids that it's a requirement to get up early on Christmas morning--I'm just fine with that. We got to stay in bed 'till about 7:45.
ReplyDeleteI made a card table playhouse for my little ones. I'd love to see your tent. How could you mention it but not post a picture?!?! :)
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteI saw you had commented over at Mimi Sue's and realized I hadn't visited you in awhile. I love Mimi Sue, but then I'm sure everyone does.
Thanks for letting us have a peek at your mom's beautiful decorating. Very lovely.
I noticed we have the same Nativity set. I too, chose a different Creche than the standard one that comes with the set. I really love yours.
Hope your Christmas was Merry & Bright.
What great pics! I want to see one of the tent you made! You son with his Batman pjs is just too cute.
ReplyDeleteI love your Mom's garland too. She did a great job with it.
You know I love a good home tour! Your mothers home is beautiful love the decorations. The ribbon thru the tree is a wonderful touch. Glad you had a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteDon't you love having a Merry Little Christmas? It keeps the meaning closer to our hearts, I think. I love your mother's garland across her mantle. But most of all, I adore her Nativity set.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a great Christmas. Hopefully everyone is healthy --- I noticed 3 of you missing on Sunday!!
ReplyDeleteOur Christmas was good too -- all except for the drama caused by my sister's I would blog about it -- but you know -- you can never really discreetly post about family drama!!!
Oh yeah --- I forgot to remind you about my giveawsy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteglad you had such a blessed christmas. i have been 'stalking' around your blog for some time now and enjoy it very much. i wanted to ask - did you do your blog design and if so have you thought about doing it for others? i love it - and would love to have a custom design made but don't like some that i've seen nearly as much as your. have a safe new years.

She's left no area untouched by Christmas!! I love it. What a fun day at your house too. I actually miss the excitement the little ones had at Christmas. It's still good, just not the same. I too was frantically sewing on Christmas Eve. I want to unpick part of the binding and redo it but Jill won't let me have the quilt back to do it! She said it looks great to her. I guess I'm always pickier than anyone else about what I sew bz I know where the mistakes are!! Cindy
ReplyDeleteYour mom is so cute. I was so happy to meet her. Maybe our next home tour we need to go to her house. Everything looks so great! Aubrey has a CD with lots of pictures that I had to borrow so if you need some...Have a Happy New Year. Sue
