Do you remember this old window? I got it a few weeks back. I was driving home and this girl had them outside of her house selling them for ten bucks a piece. I knew that was too good of a deal to pass up.
So I sanded it down, and took a razor blade and cleaned up the paint on the glass. Then I taped off the glass and spray painted it. Sanded it again for that distressed look and put some stain on too make it look old again. I didn't realize how crazy that sounded until a neighbor walked by and asked what I was doing.
Anyhow, here is the finished product.
I decided to put it in my kitchen over the kitchen cabinets.
I just might have to take it down for the 4th of July. I love how a lot of you bloggers out there put an American flag behind the glass.
So, I am quickly running out of ideas for things to blog about, any ideas???
thanks so much for the thought. We went to the eye dr today and it was another dead end. I don't have any symptoms of allergies, but maybe this is MY symptom. I know I have some zyrtec lying around here somewhere. I will try it tomorrow. I have got absoulately nothing to lose. The window looks great! I love the look of the new blog.
ReplyDeleteALso, my neighbor thinks I am crazy. He always asks what I am creating when I am out spray painting. He always seems interested. I know he is really not, but I still like that he tries!!!
ps-watch out for those windows. Crafting with them can be addicting!!!
I love how your window turned out. And that tassel is darling. I really want to try and make one or maybe some. Mimi

ReplyDeleteI love the window with the wreath! The church down the street is being renovated and I kept watching to see if they would take out the old windows. I'm kind of thinking they won't now because they boarded up the glass the other day.

It looks great! Ah, to have that much space above cabinets. We're in a 1972 house and they sure did not believe in high ceilings and open stuff back then. Shoot. I'm jealous!!! I'm out of blog ideas, too, since the kiddos keep me busy and I don't get to create as I used to. Send some this way if you get some good ones hun! Hugs, Les
