And here's how my tree looks now.......................
Isn't she pretty (it's such a dainty looking tree I'm sure it's a girl)
I decided this shelf needed a little something more. That's the bad thing about buying a shelf with pegs to hang stuff on. Then you actually need to hand something from them. So back to Tai Pan I went to shop on a budget!
Before..........
After.....................
I also decided this wheat looking thing needed a little something more.
I found this pretty fallish looking ribbon. Twenty five yards of this stuff for $4 dollars.
I thought these little acorns were cute!
My favorite find of all was this wreath. I think it's actually supposed to go around a candle, but for 5 bucks I new I could make it work, especially when the bigger one was $20 dollars. Here's that ribbon again. My only problem is now I have like 22 yards of ribbon that I don't know what to do with, so Megan or Aubrey or Sherri or anyone close by let me know if you want some!
I loved these cute little mini acorns.
So this weekend I bought my first item off of ksl.com (our local e-bay). My boys were so excited to go pick it up, that by them time we got to our destination, this is how they looked.
HI there, I too am from utah..but been living in Washington state since 1986..I am going home for a visit to utah next month..and want to go shopping where is Tai Pan? my girlfriend and I plan on going to gardeners village too..I can't wait..I was there 4 years ago(thats the last time I was there) and had so much fun at that place..loved how they had it decorated...Take care..
ReplyDeleteOhhh...I love everything about your black shelf! The shelf itself and the decor on it & hanging from it are so pretty! Love those acorns!! Turning that candle ring into a wreath is such a good idea - I may need to "borrow" that idea. :o)
ReplyDeleteLove the re-do! And that ribbon is oh so pretty along with your dainty girl tree. And those mini acorns are too cute!
ReplyDeleteYour shelf looks fantastic...I love the updates! I'm also loving the picture of the boys, it's absolutely precious!
ReplyDeleteOh make me so jealous! Love the changing leaves and trip to Tai Pan! Yikes! My sister has bought some great stuff on ksl-can't wait to see what ya got!
ReplyDeleteI agree. I think your tree is a dainty girl! LOL I love your shelf and everything looks so cute and fallish! The picture of your babies is priceless!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love Tai Pan? We're so lucky to have it so close. Your shelf is adorable. Hanging that stuff just finished it off. I'll bet you'll find plenty to do with that extra ribbon. I like to use it for napkin rings at Thanksgiving. Mimi
ReplyDeleteTai Pan is awesome as you already know. Your fall decor looks great and like the ribbon around the awesome wheat.
ReplyDeleteBut I have to say I lOVE the picture of the little ones in the back seat. Yep, Tai Pan can just plain tucker you out!
With smiles, Beth
Love the shelf display...looks like it is in a magazine. So cozy and cute!! Great job.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! cherry
ReplyDeletelove it!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a shelf that I bought YEARS ago and it is supposed to have four pegs. Well, this last time we moved one of the pegs got lost on the moving truck and I figured it would be easier for me to go buy a replacement rather than send the moving guys in to search (they had lots of other people's things neatly stacked in there). Now I'm thinking that was stupid because I can't find the correct sized peg.
That being said, I'm inspired by what you've done with your shelf but I'm at a standstill because it doesn't look good without the peg. So now I ask myself, "What would Nicole do?"
Love the fall decor!
ReplyDeleteI am laughing so much seeing that picture of your boys. That is "adorably" funny.
Thank you for sharing.
God bless,
Anna
YOur house looks great.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for our leaves to change except I HATE raking and my backyard if FULL of trees. Yea pretty things for a good deal. Awww your boys...it seems like I would always be taking my seatbelt off to lean back and push their heads up so they could fall again 10 seconds later. Cute!
ReplyDeleteIf you could just take that entire shelf and all the accessories off the wall and ship it to me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks :) Super super cute!!
ReplyDeleteYour shelf looks awesome! I love the wreath.
ReplyDeleteI think everything you added to your shelf looks GREAT!! I love it! Your tree is so pretty too! Our leaves haven't started changing yet.
ReplyDeleteDoes your car have built-in car seats?!?!
I'm a Utahan too and have so enjoyed visiting your blog. Your kids are adorable. My trees haven't turned yet but it won't be long! It's raining today and that seems to help them along a bit after it warms up. I like to drive up the canyon the first part of October to see the leaves. I can hardly wait!
ReplyDeletelove all of your stuff and the last picture is so cute, I can't wait on the leave to change here.
ReplyDeleteThat is too cute. Nothing like a sleeping baby....or babies for that matter!
ReplyDeleteGreat little additions to your shelf! Just proof that a little touch can make all the difference!
ReplyDeleteCute stuff nicole!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great display! The shelf looks really good. I like the ribbon around the wheat. I tend to hang on to ribbon as then I can use it for years when I need it to coordinate with the older things.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what your precious boys where so excited about! Adorable picture...
I remember those days!
Your tree is very pretty and dainty. Definately a girl!
Have a great day!
Blessings,
Jody
Your fall shelf looks so awesome! I have to ask though. What is Tai Pan? I'm from the Northeast, and I've never heard of it.
ReplyDeleteWow, such a beautiful home and children! I live just north of your border in Idaho, and I love to read about other people that live close by. Love your fall decorating, I wish I was as gifted as you are. I've given you an award on my blog, come check it out for more informatin.
ReplyDeleteYour nest indeed does look very cozy all decked out for fall. Love it all!
ReplyDeleteLook so nice! I'm having a love affair with acorns this fall also...I have a feeling we could do some damage if we lived closer. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteHey, I have a great antique warehouse by my home and I found tons of rolling pins. Are you on a search for a specific type that I can keep my eyes open for? I found a really cute long skinny one for about $4, but held off until I hear back from you:-)
Those little acorns are perfect! I also love the color of that ribbon. Very cute display. :-)
ReplyDeleteAwesome additions! The tree is looking very pretty, too! I think ours are bound to change very soon. Leaf forts here we come!!! Can't wait to see what your find on your local ebay was! It's so funny to see how kids can still manage to sleep with their heads bobbing, isn't it?!? ~ Les
ReplyDeleteYour shelf with all the fall decor looks too cute!
ReplyDeletecute! I love the acorns as well. So-what should you do with the ribbon? i would walk around my house and see what needed ribbon. You know-for fall purposes. Everything looks better with a little bow or ribbon. Too bad I don't look a little better with a bow!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday...100 things and being saucy was a lot of fun!!
ReplyDeleteThe boy is doing great...he loves school!! I have to remind myself not to project myown fears onto him...cause he is not me, and he surprises me everyday!!
Love the new shelf look!

This project look so fun, so beautiful. I'm completely jealous!
ReplyDeleteWe just moved (and started blogging) to Berlin, Germany, where I'm sad to report that autumn crafting just doesn't seem to exist. So for now, I must live through cool projects like you've posted. Thanks!
