{My first furniture Rehab}

I saw this wicker bench at an antique store and new it had some possibilities. It was $25 dollars. I've wanted one forever, ok, ever since I saw the nester got some wicker furniture for a killer deal.

Five cans of spray paint later and a fluffy cushion from Pier 1 and here is how she looks........

The cushion had a little stain on it so I talked the lady down from 50 to 40, but I'm still wondering if I paid too much. I might recover it down the road. I looked into how much it would be to buy a foam pad to make my own and it was around $40 without the fabric so I guess it was an ok deal.
I can tell this furniture refurbishment business could be addictive. It's fun to see the possibilities in an old hunk of junk! Thanks Kimba and Joy for all the inspiring rehab posts!

One more thing, you have to go and read my friend Megan's blog post for today, it's hilarious. She wrote the cutest and funniest little story about her little boy. It had me laughing so hard!!!

  1. You did such a great job. I think $40.00 is fine for a cushion that nice.

  3. It came out great! I can't believe you found that for $25!! I think $40 is about right for that cushion. I keep hoping to find them clearanced down to pennies lately, but no such luck yet!

    By the way...my husband is in Utah this week. Wave to him if you see him. ha ha ha

  5. Very cute, I think you did a great job! I don't think the pad was too expensive, you probably wouldn't be able to buy a new wicker sofa with cushion for less than $65. I know how you feel about looking at what people have done, I walk around my house looking at things wondering if I can spray paint it!

  17. You did good girl! I think what you paid was good and it will last a long time too. I could soooo see some pretty pops of red in a few throw pillows on that settee. Butttt I am partial to black and red rofl. Your comment you left me made me smile! Thank-you, cherry

  18. I am also a Kimba fan, but I've been afraid to take the plunge. It's really amazing what a fresh coat of paint will do!

  19. Fantastic!!! I can't believe you got that for $25! What a find! A new wicker loveseat and cushion could easily top $200 so I think you did great.

    And it looks so perfect with the black paint. Like that's how it was born to be.

    Great job!
