I'm so excited, I've been wanting to do this forever, so here it goes.
This is how it's going to work. Depending on how many people sign up, you will each make 8-10 cards that are all the same. Mail them to me with 3 dollars for packaging and postage. When I've received everyone's cards I will mail 8-10 back to you that are all different. (I hope that makes sense) For this card swap, make any kind of card you want, Birthday, Wedding, Blank, Baby, whatever. I only have like 4 people who read this blog so help me get the word out, tell anyone you think might be interested. I'm trying to make a button you can put on your blog to help me get the word out.
RULES:
1. You need to sign up by June 25th
2. All cards need to be mailed to me by July 10th
3. Cards need to be mailed with an envelope for each card. I'm doing it this way because I hate it when I do card swaps and receive a card that's some odd shape and can never use it because I can't find an envelope. Most handmade cards are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, but if you want to make another size just make sure you can find an envelope that it will fit nicely in. Staples and Office Max are good places for envelopes.
4. Cards HAVE to be homemade. Make a card that you would be excited to receive. Don't send cards that your kids have made (cute as they may be, save them for Grandpa and Grandma).
5. The body of the card needs to be made of card stock.
6. The card needs to have at least (more are great) one embellishment, like ribbon, buttons, chipboard, you get the idea.
Ok, if you've read all this hoopla and your still interested (I hope you are) , then please e-mail me at cardswappinmom@yahoo.com and I will get back to you with all the important info.
Sign me up!! I would love to do a card swap! What a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole,
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to meet you. It looks like you're fairly new to blogging too. Don't you just love it! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment on my blog. By the way, I live in Utah too.
Sounds good Nicole! Sign me up. Now I have a LOOOOONG time to procrastinate. Hah! No, really, I do have a favorite card that I like to make that I think I will do for this swap. Not to fancy, but I like it!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea!!! I totally want to join in!
ReplyDeletei found your blog from someone-sorry i was surfing and didn't pay attention.
ReplyDeleteAnyway-I would love to do your card swap. Sounds way fun! I willkeep checking back and make sure that I know what is going on.
Hey-if you want to do another swap-I am doing one-it's a simple one. Nothing too exciting. I am not as good as you-I don't know how to do the digital cutsie stuff-so my swap friends-they have to check my posts. Anyway-we are doind a letter box. You use your letter of your first name or last. You fill a box with things that start the that letter or use that letter for a theme for the box. The only rules are: You must not spend over $10. You must be creative. Creative in using your imagination and doing your best. Not everyone is "crafty" thats ok-we just want everyone to do their best!
So-if you want to-come over to my blog and check out the details. I would love for you to do it! New friends are so fun!
I'll sign up! I've got to use all my new card ideas somewhere. Talk to you soon! Oh, I really love all the pictures of your family that you have added. Cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeletePlease sign me up for this card swap. It sound like such fun!

ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for your card swap! Count me in!
ReplyDeleteI'm in for this card swap, how fun!
ReplyDeleteCame from SITS to check out your blog. I wish I was crafty enough to make cards, but alas, I'm not.
ReplyDeleteBut good luck with the swap!
What an interesting giveaway! I've never seen one like this before, I like it! Very creative.
ReplyDeleteI'm a card maker and would love to do this... However, I can't, I JUST CAN'T make 10 cards EXACTLY the same! So what I'd like to know is... Is this a hard and fast rule? Can I just send you a variety of 'similar' cards? Which might also be difficult for me to muster.
ReplyDeleteLet me know....
This is real interesting. Wish I had time to participate!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to do this too...how fun...but can you send me a few "get off your butt" emails to keep me on track??
ReplyDeleteYou are another SITS gem.
You've got more than 4 readers now!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea! Could I just pay to have 8 beautiful cards without all the work?? :)
ReplyDeleteCute blog!
Oh, I just posted about a contest on my blog today...if you like Whole Foods, you may be interested. I'm giving away a $25 gift card to a random person in my Do-Good challenge. Check it out! Who doesn't want a few free groceries and make someone happy in the process? :)
Cute idea!
ReplyDeleteThis would be really awesome to do. But wow, there's not a lot of time to make 8-10 cards. And they all have to be the same card?
ReplyDeleteI just got done making 15 Kung Fo Panda invites for my son's b-day party. Took me about 3 hours but they are done. I will have to rethink the whole 'make cards' situation next time ~ whew!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I am as creative as a rock - and one of those people that can't draw a straight line - even with a ruler (I always get a finger bump or a little hiccup where the ruler must have moved) otherwise I would totally join in the craft fun!
ReplyDeleteThis kind of stuff always makes me wish I was artistic. *cries*
ReplyDeleteNot a creative bone in my body but I know lots of girls who would love to do this, what a great idea
ReplyDeletecount me in! I'm going to do this with my friend melissa :) thanks for hosting it, it's a great idea!
ReplyDeleteHi there, I just ran across your blog. I would love to participate in your card swap. I guess I better get busy huh?...*smiles*
ReplyDeleteKaren~
Sounds like a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI've never made a card before, other than when I was a kid. So let me think about it. Sounds like a fun thing to do...
What a fun idea!!
ReplyDeleteI used to be all into making cards, but haven't done that in years.
Good luck with the swap!!!
if all the cards were as cute as yours, i'd be there with ya! i'm creatively challenged but i defy the imagination when it comes to copying people or stealing ideas. wandered over from SITS
ReplyDeleteReally cute idea...unfortunately kid art is all I got. :( Maybe next time!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to join (SITS girl btw), but my cards don't have the cool things you talk about. I'm not that good yet. I can do embossing, but that's about it. Great idea though!
ReplyDeletecool idea
ReplyDeleteDarn it! I was hoping it was a postcard exchange! My kids and I are trying to collect all 50 States by the end of the summer! Good luck with your exchange!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely In! I'm looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteI would love to join in! I'm off to send you that email confirmation!
ReplyDeleteChris
I am sooo in!! Please sign me up as well!! :) I just love cards and keep meaning to do something like this too, so yay!! xo!
ReplyDeleteNicole, I've tried to reply to the e-mail you sent a while back about the card swap but for some reason my e-mail account can't send it out.
ReplyDeleteIs the card swap still on and do you have more details? I'll check back or you can e-mail me at thepapertreehouse@comcast.net
Thanks!
